Club Training
The Surrey Spartans Hockey Club train on the astro-turf pitches at the Surrey Sports Park. Directions to the facility can be seen on our Location page. The club training is organised to coincide with the University of Surrey Hockey Club’s training sessions and is broken down into 2 sessions. The University of Surrey Hockey Club has a third training session in which specialty skills sessions will take place from time to time. Members of the Surrey Spartans Hockey Club will also be able to take advantage of this focused coaching.
Session 1 – Tuesday 6pm to 8pm on ATP2 University of Surrey Hockey Club
8pm to 10pm on ATP 2 Surrey Spartans Hockey Club
Session 2 – Thursday 6pm to 7:30pm on ATP3 University of Surrey Hockey Club
7:30pm to 9pm on ATP3 Surrey Spartans Hockey Club
Session 3 – Sunday 5pm to 8pm on ATP2 University of Surrey Hockey Club
The players will be broken down into squads to maximise the effectiveness of the training. The squads will be made up in the following way for the 2010/11 season.
Men’s A Squad – Men’s 1st XI and 2nd XI Teams
Men’s B Squad – Men’s 3rd XI and 4th XI Teams
Ladies A Squad – Ladies 1st XI Team
Ladies B Squad – Ladies 2nd XI Team

Club Matches
The Surrey Spartans Hockey Club play home matches at the Surrey Sports Park. Directions to the facility can be seen on our Location page. The University of Surrey will only field teams in the BUCS competitions. The home south league fixtures will take place on Saturday afternoons with the following push back times.
Pushback Time 1 – 11am on ATP2
Pushback Time 2 – 1pm am on ATP2
Pushback Time 3 – 3pm on ATP2
If only 2 matches are scheduled the first pitch slot will not be used. Should a fourth match be required, all pitch times will move forward by half an hour to allow one further fixture slot. In extra-ordinary circumstances some games may be moved to ATP3.
Both the Surrey Spartans and the University of Surrey may play some cup and friendly fixtures on Sunday afternoons. These fixtures will be organised as individual events.
